Dear Artist,

Thank you for your interest in The Art Market at Historic Honey Horn. This is the eighth year for Hilton Head Island to host a fine art and craft show. Over seventy artists were highlighted at last year’s show. The Coastal Discovery Museum will present this juried show at Honey Horn, a sixty-eight acre historic property in the center of Hilton Head Island. This site has hosted the Museum’s Community Festival, the Hilton Head Kennel Show, the Concours d’Elegance and many other community events.

    Exhibitor Essentials

    The show site is outdoors at historic Honey Horn on Hilton Head Island. There will be no rain contingency plan, so please plan accordingly.

    Artists are provided with a 10’ x 10’ space along the edge of a line of century-old oaks on a grassy field. All artists must have their own 10’ x 10’ freestanding tent. All other equipment for set up and display is the artist’s responsibility. Limited storage space will be available between artists’ exhibit spaces. All storage boxes must remain out of sight. Booth assignments are at the discretion of The Coastal Discovery Museum.

    Only artists displaying their original artwork may occupy booths. All work must be attributed solely to the displaying arts. No more than two artists may collaborate on work and proof of legitimate collaboration must be provided at the time of application. Both artists must be listed on the application and both must be present during the entire show. Artists are required to show photo identification at check-in and at any time requested during the show.  Limited edition prints and giclées are permitted, but must be clearly labeled as such.  A majority of work hung in booths must be originals.

    No agents, dealer, or representatives may attend the event in the place of the artist. The Coastal Discovery Museum reserves the right to remove unsuitable works at the time of the show. Booth rental fees will not be refunded.

    A convenient exhibitors’ parking area will be available for the weekend. Exhibitors may leave trailers on site in a designated area during the weekend.

    Exhibitors are responsible for establishing their own accounting system for credit card processing. Exhibitors are responsible for collecting the 5% South Carolina sales tax during the festival. A Town of Hilton Head business license will be provided with your booth fee.

    Security

    Security will be provided on site, however, each artist exhibits at his or her own risk. The Coastal Discovery Museum is not responsible for damage, theft or loss of an individual’s work or personal property.

    Show Hours

    Thursday, April 24th – 3-7 pm set up
    Friday, April 25 – 10-5 set up
    Saturday, April 26 – 7-9 set up – 10-5 show
    Saturday, April 26 – meet the artists’ party
    Sunday, April 27 – 11-4 show hours

    Submission Checklist

    • Completed application form
    • Jury fee of $30 (for new entries) or $25 (for past participants and entrants) made payable to Coastal Discovery Museum
    • Four (4) slides labeled with name or a CD with artist’s name and media
    • SASE with sufficient postage for return of slides, CDs will not be returned, unless otherwise requested

      Prize money of $5,000. will be awarded in several categories to the artists. There is no admission fee to this event; $5.00 parking donation at Honey Horn. Food, beverages, beer and wine are for sale.

      After crossing the bridge to Hilton Head Island, travel 3 additional miles on Business 278 to Gum Tree Rd (Do not take Cross Island Expressway). Turn right at Gum Tree Rd. and follow signs to Honey Horn.
